When to go Norway ?
Norway is a country that can be visited all year round. Prefer winter if you dream of snow, northern lights and Nordic ski touring, ice skating on frozen lakes and evenings around the fireplace. If, on the other hand, you're looking for endless days, midnight suns, kayaking in the fjords and plenty of time for a swim, then summer might be better for you. Spring and autumn are less crowded and just as wonderful!
Despite its latitude, Norway's climate is temperate. Contrary to what one might think, it is not a polar climate, its Atlantic coast benefiting from the warmth of the Gulf Stream. Inland, we are closer to a continental climate, harsher and more extreme like that of the Icelanders. As for the North, it is clearly subject to a subarctic climate. If the temperatures in winter often fall below zero, the snow, very frequent, gives to nature a unique face. In summer, temperatures are around 20°C and can rise to 30°C.
