In the Roman Catholic Church, dominant in Slovakia, the Epiphany is celebrated on January 6. There is no "galette des rois" or special festivities for this religious holiday, which is a national holiday in the country. However, this date is Christmas Eve for the Orthodox Churches and some Eastern Rite Catholic Churches, a minority in Slovakia, which have kept the "Julian" calendar (introduced by Julius Caesar) and its thirteen-day gap.
