A night of prayer commemorates Muhammad's journey from Mecca to Jerusalem where he was given the command of the 5 daily prayers.
"The Night of the Journey and Ascent to Heaven" is the most powerful spiritual experience of the Prophet Muhammad. The Archangel Gabriel asked him to travel to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on a majestic mount. Muhammad rode from Mecca overnight, passing briefly through Heaven. He received divine commands, including the practice of prayer five times a day. The celebration of this festival is therefore mainly oriented towards the practice of prayer: a whole night is devoted to it.
