Practical information : Move & Laze around Tunisia
Budget & Tips
Many activities can be enjoyed in Tunisia: visits to heritage sites, a wide range of water sports such as diving, kitesurfing, stand-up paddling and other sea outings, as well as cookery courses, hiking and more. The landscapes are varied and the walking options endless, often on beautiful, little-visited sites. And when you're ready to relax, you'll find miles and miles of beaches to choose from for farniente sessions. Tunisia is also the perfect place to pamper yourself. Popular hammams and hotel hammams offer a wide range of body treatments, from the inevitable exfoliation to complete spa cures! Prices vary according to the type of activity and standing. For example, 100 DT per person for a half-day outing at sea, 100 to 150 DT for a guided day hike in the Dahar, or 150 DT for a treatment in a luxury spa.
What's very local
Hammams are very popular with Tunisians. You'll find them everywhere. Hammams located outside hotels and tourist areas are very affordable and have separate opening hours for men and women. A real place for socializing, going to a "neighborhood" hammam is an experience in itself!
Pottery is one of the specialties of Tunisia, and particularly of Guellala in Djerba. During your visit to the island, don't hesitate to drop in on one of the artisan potters, who might even lend you their wheel so you can try your hand at making your own creations!
To be booked
For water sports and boat trips, it's best to book at least the day before or several days in advance, depending on the season. Go directly to the activity departure point to make sure.
