ANZAC Day is a major day of remembrance that celebrates all Australian soldiers who died in combat between 1914 and 1918.
The famous ANZAC Day is the day of commemoration of the battle of Gallipoli between the Australians and New Zealanders of the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) against the Ottoman army in 1915. Arriving on April 25, the troops encountered intense opposition and more than 8,000 Australians were killed. For the first time, New Zealanders and Australians had fought together, forming the Anzac troops. More generally, ANZAC Day celebrates all Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died in battle between 1915 and 1918.
