Virgin Atlantic is the other British airline linking London Heathrow (and Manchester during the high season) with Barbados. Like all Sir Richard Branson's airlines, it has a slightly rock'n'roll image, but offers services that could not be more classic for a long-haul flight, yet relaxed. The seats are comfortable, and the interior is bathed in a warm yet soothing magenta light. There's nothing to say about the service, which starts promptly. You'll be treated to lunch, a pre-arrival tea time and a small ice cream.
