This week-long festival celebrating the opening of the lobster fishing season is popular with tourists and locals alike. Numerous culinary events are organized in San Pedro, Placencia and Caye Caulker. Free tastings, fishing contests and bicycle races enliven the festival. The peak of the celebration takes place over the whole weekend, and dance parties are organized on Friday and Saturday evenings.
