Pan American Day is a celebration commemorating the first International Conference of American States, concluded in April 1890.
Previously known as Columbus Day in the USA, and now renamed Pan American Day, the event celebrates the country's cultural diversity with parades, parties and concerts across the country. Pan American Day is a holiday celebrated by several countries in North and South America. It commemorates the first International Conference of American States, which concluded on April 14, 1890, creating the International Union of American Republics, forerunner of the Organization of American States (OAS).
