It's possible to watch a dragon boat race while enjoying dumplings: welcome to the Dragon Boat Festival.
The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the death of Qu Yuan, a poet and minister under the Zhou Dynasty who drowned in the fourth century to protest corruption in China. Chinese communities in Southeast Asia hold dragon boat races in his memory. In Singapore, the races last two days and take place at Bedok Reservoir, Kallang River and Gardens by the Bay Channel. A real festival is organized around these races with food stalls.
