Religious festival and festive decorations
The end of Ramadan is celebrated by the Muslim community, representing over 15% of Singapore's population. After a month of fasting, believers go to the mosque, the cemetery and share meals with family and close friends. For the occasion, mosques, streets and the homes of the faithful are decorated. Visitors can join in the festivities around the mosques and other events that usually take place on Sims Avenue and Changi Road. They can also sample traditional delicacies at the Geylang Serai bazaar, for example.
