Since 2003, Sustainable Development Week has been taking place throughout France. The aim of this operation is to raise French awareness of the issues of sustainable development and to encourage everyone to adopt more responsible behaviors. At La Réunion, the event is particularly followed. In 2015, demonstrations were held around the island: «To discover water» in the east, animations at the Botanical Garden of La Réunion in the west, tasting edible flowers in the south. The name has also changed to include a European dimension and dates: the event is now taking place in June.
