Chuc mung nam me! (Happy New Year!). It is the biggest festival of the year which celebrates the new year of the lunar calendar. The festivities begin on the first day of the first lunar month and last one week. During the Tet festival, administrations and businesses close. The festival is essentially a family event. People return to their hometown to meet their parents and honor their ancestors. Families and friends gather for big traditional meals, children are offered a red envelope containing a little money(Li xi).
