In the streets, the children are having a great time for this Moon Festival: drums, lanterns and Unicorn dances.
Trung Thu, celebrated in mid-autumn, is a feast of agricultural and astrological origin (autumn feast dominated by the female principle âm of the moon as opposed to spring dominated by the male principle duong of the sun). The festival honours children who are offered traditional paper toys. The evening before, in the streets, dances of the Unicorn and procession of lanterns. It is the time of the banh deo, sticky rice cakes stuffed in the shape of a lunar disc.
