In addition to Women's Day, marked here as everywhere else in the world on 8 March, Armenia celebrates this holiday to which it is particularly attached. Mother's Day (Mayeru don), the embodiment of beauty, is inherited from the cult of the goddess Anahit, the main deity of the Armenian pagan pantheon, linked to fertility and agricultural work. They are offered flowers and other gifts, trying to lighten the burden of household chores.
