One of the oldest events in Brittany, since it was created in 1923 by Louis Le Bourhis. In a rather different tone from Lorient, the more family-friendly Cornwall festival plays on the register of «popular arts and traditions», combining with certain happiness, Breton identity and world music. The brothers Morvan dining with Johnny Clegg, and the master Tambour of Senegal Doudou Rose giving the tempo to men Men ha Tan, or Denez Prigent mixing the gwerz with improvised music, rock or hip-hop. This festival was christened the "Grand Fêtes of Cornwall Queens" in 1923, before becoming "Cornwall Holidays" in 1947 and giving birth to the current formula in 1982. Every year between the 3rd and the 4 th Sunday in July, the festival offers nearly 200 performances, with an animation every half hour from 11 am to 2 am. It brings together 3 000 artists and hosts 300 000 festival goers. All the shows are given in the city centre, on Saint-Corentin square, in other words the cathedral of the cathedral, the gardens of the diocese which are just steps away and the Resistance square near the edge of the Odet.
