Lit in 1700, it is one of the oldest French lighthouses still in service. But it is not enough to mark the Channel entrance: a semaphore watches, one hundred meters lower, and above all a radar écrase its height, with an efficiency that is much better suspected. Its installation follows the shipwreck of Amoco Cadiz (1978). Stiff Bay is the main place of life, after Lampaul. She lives at the rate of boat arrivals carrying out connections with the mainland, and some fishing boats and materials transport.
