Located in the old town, the red sandstone cathedral is one of the most beautiful German Gothic churches. Built from 1200 to 1512, it has an impressive tower with walls motifs.
In the south of the cathedral, the historic merchant house attests to the importance of trade in medieval Fribourg. The building was used in the administration of the market, customs and finance.
It was built between 1530 and 1520 and the arms and statues adorned with the increasing and the facade indicate the links woven with the house of the Habsburg. The old town hall, located in the Plaza de Ville-de-Ville, meets the new town hall. The old city hall, at the fully painted facade, was built from 1557 to 1559. Every day at noon we hear his carillon, located in the turret on the central body of the building.
