This marathon brings together over 12 000 runners, from elite to amateur, and this year will be the 31st edition! The Reims Marathon has one of the best performances on French soil after the Paris marathon. On two occasions, in 2007 and 2008, Kenyan David Kyeng won the victory and took the record over the 42,195 km from 2 ' 08 ' 53 ' to 2 ' 07. If the route is reasonable geographically, with a majority of streets without slope, the organisation is sometimes a little difficult and the very impressive departure since the marathon and the half marathon start together! Five races are proposed for different levels and now each bib is equipped with an electronic stopwatch. Think of providing water by your own means to avoid missing: This should not happen because of the costs incurred, but the reality is that the supply points are quickly robbed… The organisation, given the scale of this marathon, must indeed face its success.
