Our Galan Gaeaf (All Hallow's Eve) was linked to the Celtic tradition of the New Year, but today associated with Halloween night. Spirits walk free. The ghosts of dead people appear at midnight at the entrance to country roads. In some parts of Wales, the ghost is known as Ladi Wen (the White Lady).
The inhabitants of the Glamorgan valley have developed a special feature: they parade with the skeleton of a horse and even organise singing competitions!
