Time difference Wales

It's always an hour earlier than in France. On the last Sunday in March, clocks go forward one hour to summer time. In autumn (last Sunday in October), we switch to winter time.

These times are an indication only and may vary from city to city. In Cardiff and other major cities, museums are generally open from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday. Closing times depend on the museum and the season.

Enjoying yourself Wales

Restaurants generally open around 11:30am and close around 10pm-11pm. They may close much earlier out of season and outside Cardiff. During this period, you can eat at any time - usually. Beware, too, of pubs where the kitchen closes earlier than the establishment - after 9pm it's harder to get a bite to eat.

Take a break Wales

On weekdays, bars close between 10pm and midnight. On Friday and Saturday nights, they generally close later, until 4am in Cardiff. Outside the capital, they close a little earlier.

(To) please yourself Wales

Stores are generally closed on Sundays, especially outside Cardiff. Opening times may vary from city to city, and may be reduced out of season. Shops are usually open from 9am to 9pm in major cities and on weekdays. They close slightly earlier on Saturdays at around 7pm.

Get out Wales

Mainly located in the city, nightclubs are generally open from Thursday to Saturday, from 10pm to 2am. For activities with friends (cinema, billiards, bowling, etc.), opening hours vary widely depending on the type of establishment. On weekdays, they close earlier, around 11pm-midnight.
