When to go Scotland ?
While every season has its own charm in Scotland and every month its own events, there are still times when tourism is most likely to flourish. Many castles, museums, distilleries and accommodation are open all year round, but many only open their doors from April to the end of October. Spring, summer and autumn are therefore the best times to stay in Scotland. You can then choose between the daffodil, rhododendron or copper leaf season.
In Scotland, the weather is not a guarantee of safety. Although Scotland has an oceanic climate overall, there can be as many as four seasons in one day and the country has a very varied climate. Of course, it often rains, but an afternoon can become beautifully sunny after a heavy shower! So keep a raincoat handy and prefer May and June, which are the driest months. The east coast turns out to be dry and cool, while the west is milder and wetter.
