On the left of the cathedral, on the Praza do Obradoiro, it was founded by Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabelle de Castille to serve as a hospital and hostel for pilgrims. Its imposing façade is decorated with a magnificent plateresque portal. His plan, like all the hospitals at the time, follows the form of a cross enclosed in a square delimiting four plateresques patios. It now serves as a hotel since it has become one of the most beautiful paradors in Spain.
