ST. JACQUES CHURCH IN ISSIME
Go there and contact
A remarkable church with a facade covered with frescoes of the seventeenth century and a museum of sacred art in Issime.
Further down the valley, Issime - the first German-speaking village from Pont-Saint-Martin - is home to a church whose remarkable façade is entirely covered with 17th-century frescoes depicting the Last Judgement, the work of artist Francesco Biondi. At the back of the church, a small museum of sacred art contains a large number of works of folk art dating from the 14th to 18th centuries, most of them from German-speaking Switzerland.
