Jimmie Austin Golf Club has a rich heritage dating back to the early 1940's when this same course was home to a U.S. Navy recreational facility (the Navy Air Technical Training Center). In January 1951, the course, as we know it today, opened. In 1996 and 2017, two extensive renovation plans were completed, with the goal of maintaining the level of excellence intended by the original builders. The golf course has regularly hosted the country's greatest competitions.
