Walks are free and self-guided if you just follow the signposted paths. You can also choose to go from village to village along small country roads. The sea is accessible free of charge, and so is the beach, everywhere in front of and around the lidos, those famous paid beaches where you can reserve a deckchair. There are many wild coves around the island and its satellite islands.

Your documents please

The island of Ustica off the coast of Palermo and the Aeolian Islands, with their volcanic seabed, are particularly attractive to divers. Regulations are the same as throughout Europe, and all dive centers are PADI-certified.

Guides authorized to climb Etna or Stromboli are accredited to give safety instructions and take responsibility for groups.

To be booked

Diving is an activity to be booked in high season if possible, as are treks to Etna or the Aeolian Islands, particularly Stromboli, a much sought-after ascent and boat tour, even if you can no longer get close to the crater.
