When to go Sicily ?
You can visit Sicily in any season, because museums, cathedrals, hotels, stores and restaurants are always open, except in the Aeolian Islands, which are closed out of season. However, we recommend that you visit in the spring and fall, when the good weather allows you to enjoy the cities outdoors, while avoiding the very high summer season, which is the most touristic, especially in Catania, Syracuse, Taormina and Etna, which break records for visitors.
Sicily has a Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are short and generally mild. It rarely gets below 12°C in the middle of winter in Palermo and below 10°C in Messina. The interior and the south of the island have an almost African climate. In Sicily, the most pleasant months are April, May and October.
