PONZA
An island of wild beauty, a beautiful address for vacationers in search of pristine landscapes and a crystal clear sea.
Just opposite the promontory of Mount Circeo, a one-hour hydrofoil ride separates the beaches of Sabaudia and Terracina de Ponza, an island of untamed and discreet beauty where nature and a touch of worldliness make up the pair. This small rocky island of just over 700 hectares reflects the dolce vita style tinged with the colours of the Mediterranean. A haven for Roman holidaymakers in search of pristine landscapes and crystal-clear seas, the island is worth discovering, even if only for the duration of an excursion. The small port opens in an amphitheatre on the eastern side of the island, bordered by small houses with colourful facades linked together by a real spider's web of steps that go up and down the hillside. In summer, life in Ponza is made up of simple rituals, from doughnuts with creamy breakfast to aperitivo on the harbour after a day on the boat. In the morning, from their boats, fishermen wait for the holidaymakers to take them to spend the day in blue water creeks in exchange for a few euros. The more enterprising will rent a dinghy for the day and go and find the most beautiful beach. The tuff cliffs here create breathtaking landscapes, plunging steeply into the blue waters of the sea, to be explored by PMT. Chiaia di Luna, the most spectacular of the Ponza coves on the western side of the island, is worth the trip on its own. If you had been a little disappointed by the beaches of Lazio so far, we are sure that Ponza will impress you!
