Refined, intimate restaurant serving traditional dishes with a twist, right in the center of Lille.

We can't talk about the Compostelle without mentioning its location in the heart of the city and its magnificent setting: this building, created in 1572, has long served as a stopover for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Traditional dishes worked with originality and know-how make up the menu. The setting is neat: bright and modern in the patio, more classical and intimate in the other rooms. The service is both attentive and smiling. The Compostelle also opens its doors for a snack with delicious pastries.

After being allee three times, I can provide my opinion reflected on this restaurant.
My opinion based on restaurant as it is on a year and a half, 2011 to December 2012.

I begins with to say it is a high-end pseudonym restaurant, which features chic only its decor, manicured (the patio!). For the rest, that goes from way to very bad.

Always rai me about Compostela as a safe bet.
The first time, we went friends, and planes found the rather good though too pressing (the main courses really ravelled at the point where we had to say on several occasions that we had time!), but the menu (Trilogy marine) had taken up with the complex. It was correct, without being delicious. Cooking were right, the elaborate dishes.
The menu is provided enough to satisfy whoever.

The second time, rebelote, brisk service archi and obvious lack of experience (one dust bottles of wine on the banks of the columns and walls, behind you, and next to the alley service!)

But then third (and last time that I get there), a catastrophe.
We were in couple and wanted dinner to celebrate our years of union.
Which horror...

Always with the largest menu, this time here the main courses did not look like no more, ingredients were tasteless and we like to have purée or boiled more than a harmonious ensemble.
What about the service and waitress in total disagreement with the place (large sweater with cuddly toy... thank you).

And the roof: around 23:30 heating is cut and, as we were the last, light main were extinct!
One literally squeezed us to leave.
In short, the evening was spoiled, bill two hundred euros to the key.

Fortunately, we gave the month according to a Real Restaurant, Dairy with Lambersart, managed to pamper us.

Seriously, compostela, guests so is not very demanding, is not a reference in any point.

extraordinary setting - welcome and cordial service (limit intrusive) fine menu, the same for the wines - unfortunately the boasts stop! The presentation is sometimes kitsch (colour " américains" and the dishes plupartfades and are not seasoned enough. There are no flavours reported. After: pleasure more than ordinary for a substantial bill
