LES CMIS (CENTRE MUNICIPAUX D’INITIATION SPORTIVE)
The city of Lille has set up municipal sports initiation centres (CMIS) in different districts of the metropolis to promote the passage between sports teaching as proposed at school and the accession of youth Lillois to sports clubs in the city. The educational objective of these CMIS is to introduce young people between the ages of 6 and 12 (possibility of derogation according to activities) to sports practice, whether it be swimming, tennis, educational boxing, but also roller, climbing, or communal sports… Coaching is provided by sports educators from the city and club stakeholders. Registration takes place at the beginning of September, on the spot in sports equipment and according to available places.
