Founded in 1957 and installed since 1965 rue des Stations, the Goethe Institut Lille aims to promote knowledge of the German language, to disseminate a full and authentic image of the country and its culture and to create a genuine intercultural exchange between France and Germany. The Goethe Institut Lille also promotes the networking of the cultural scenes of Germany and France. Cultural societies, reading rooms, learning centre and examinations, the Goethe Institut de Lille is an indispensable place for all those who would like to know more about Germany.
