ASE (ACTIONS POUR LA SANTÉ ET L'ÉDUCATION)
The Solidarity association Actions for Health and Education have been in Benin since 2001, particularly in the commune of Zê (south of Benin), a rural commune heavily affected by poverty. Created by Gilles ORT (native of Benin), this association brings together about members of various competences (scientific researchers, school teachers, ambulance assistants, trade assistants, secretaries, students, etc.) Their mission? To help develop, produce, maintain, empower, mitigate the adverse effects of rural exodus, the first cause of immigration without control to industrialized countries. Through solidarity-based travel on-site (the Beninese Hôte'host), the association was able to finance various projects: in the field of education, the construction of a literacy centre for women, a library/library centre or a reading centre and animation for young people; in the economic sector, the creation of a poultry centre, wells and vegetable gardens, and even a cassava treatment centre; in the field of ecology, through the treatment of plastic waste in Zê soil; finally, in the field of health, by the restocking of local medical centres. As you will have understood, the action of this association is not negligible and wins to be known!
