Hosted by the MRES (Regional House of the Environment and Solidarity), the CRDTM is a valuable documentation centre which makes available to all a documentary fund rich in over 6 500 references on solidarity and development. The centre also organizes conferences and conducts exhibitions. Born in 1983, at the initiative of international solidarity associations, it is part of the Ritimo network, which coordinates the action of third world documentation centres in France. The public can find all kinds of information about Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Oceania, a multitude of novels and books for young children, more than 100 periodicals, more than 500 audio-visual documents. Since 2003, the CRDTM has been offering training, organizes the week of reading and anime with MRES and CSIR a forum of teaching tools. There are relay antennas from the Ritimo network in Loos-en-Gohelle, Maubeuge, Valenciennes and Boulogne-sur-Mer.
