THE ECOLOGICAL GARDEN OF OLD LILLE
Created in 1985, the Ecological Garden of the old Lille was the first of its kind in France. Today it is managed and maintained by the PPJég Association (the Prefect's Promenade, the Ecological Garden and the Frogs) whose aim is to protect and discover nature for a better knowledge of biodiversity in the city. Around workshops and entertaining tours, the association offers families to discover all the curiosities of this garden not like the others. Divided into several distinct ecological units, the garden has a rich flora and fauna. You can discover the Cologne water mint or the tree with pepper smell. On the wildlife side you can watch snails, insects and birds that feel at home. Part of the park is, moreover, an integral natural reserve prohibited by the public. Between the ancient ramparts and the river, the garden also offers some tourist attractions such as the Vauban's paved path or still a blockhouse of the Second World War. To be sure not to miss any of the proposed activities, please do not hesitate to contact the passionate and passionate members of the PPJég Association who will be happy to inform you.
