A must for all the inhabitants of Lille, since the Middle Ages an important market and the Théâtre du Nord have been held here.

The famous Grand'Place, renamed in honour of General de Gaulle on 12 August 1944, is located in the heart of the city between Old Lille and the pedestrian area. It is an essential place for all the inhabitants of Lille to gather. Since the Middle Ages, it has been the site of an important market and part of the old cobblestones can be found in the centre of the square. Also worth seeing, the column of the Goddess, the Flemish façade of the Voix du Nord, the Théâtre du Nord. And of course the Vieille Bourse.

Plaisir du quotidien
Je passe sur la place quotidiennement et c'est toujours un plaisir de la voir. Un incontournable de Lille avec ses vieux bâtiments et sa fontaine. Les restaurants/bars y sont cher. Je recommande de se tourner vers les rues adjacentes, charmantes et plus abordables.
En hiver, La Grande Roue prend place et transforme la place.
