LILLE OBSERVATORY
Go there and contact
Built in 1934, the Lille Observatory is today a world-renowned astronomical centre connected to university and organized around teaching, knowledge dissemination and research missions. It is the Association Jonckheere, established in 2004, which is responsible for promoting and valuing this astronomical and architectural heritage, while stimulating scientific activity around the large window. Built in 1909, the Jonckheere bezel is sheltered by a 8-metre rolling dome and allows to observe the double stars and giant planets. The association is also trying to restore many other scientific tools you can discover by visiting the observatory. Among them, the Héliostat De (a device to orient the light of the Sun), a seismograph built in 1934, and numerous clocks such as the Mailhat clock or the Brillié clock. This fascinating place only visits three times in the year, so don't miss the opportunity to discover it!
