SUPERQUINQUIN
It is difficult to classify Superquinquin in a specific category so the project is original and decidedly different. However, let us try to describe this new arrival in the Metropolis of Lille. Superquinquin is a participatory and cooperative supermarket. In order to be able to do its shopping, you need to join a small membership and agree to spend 3 hours in the month to ensure the proper functioning and participation of the project. In exchange, each member becomes owner of the supermarket and can therefore give his opinion on the choice of products presented there and on any other decisions concerning the life of the supermarket. Focusing on local products and short circuits as much as possible, Superquinquin reduces the number of intermediaries and the cost of products that are 10 to 50% cheaper than in other shops. Profits generated are reused for the financing of projects of general interest or for the employment of employees necessary for the smooth running of the supermarket. Food products, maintenance products and body care are offered in different variants so that each member can obtain it, regardless of budget. Products are as high as possible, or with low environmental impact, and especially respectful of everyone's needs and food choices. The supermarket in Lille Fives is still in its test phase, but since its opening on 1 April 2017, the number of members is growing and by 2019 the supermarket should move to larger premises. According to its creators, Superquinquin is the supermarket of which we are the hero. One thing is certain, it is one of the only supermarkets of this kind in France.
