Portugal invites itself to Lille! Or at least its pastéis de nata, the famous and delicious golden egg tarts, sprinkled with cinnamon or powdered sugar. A former Portuguese investment banker who trained in a pastéis de nata factory in Lisbon, Paulo arrived in Lille to follow in his footsteps, with the traditional recipe in his suitcase... Success came quickly, and his azulejo-clad stall in Vieux Lille is always busy! To take away in beautiful boxes of 2 or 6, or to enjoy on the terrace with a small bica (espresso).
