COMPTOIR D’AFRIQUE ET D’ORIENT
Lille has its own Ali Baba's cave of spices and other products from the Maghreb! It's in Wazemmes, the cosmopolitan district of the capital of Flanders, that the Comptoir d'Afrique et d'Orient has been open for some thirty years, just a stone's throw from the main market. The small boutique sells specific products that may be hard to find elsewhere. On market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays), the shop is usually packed to the rafters, offering an exceptional taste experience. You'll discover or rediscover products you didn't know, or didn't know well. The advantage of this address is that you can also discover unknown flavors from other lands. Oils, condiments, spices, dried fruits, sauces, pasta, herbs, pastries, wines... These are just some of the specialities from North Africa that we usually only discover on vacation, but which are available to you all year round. You'll also find accessories and African crockery... Curious by nature, you won't feel the time go by as there are so many discoveries (culinary or simply visual and olfactory) to be made!
