MEMORY PATH
This route allows you to admire a stele representing a hand holding a dagger illuminated in blue-white-red at nightfall.
The Eure-et-Loir and Chartres are historically linked to the figure of Jean Moulin, who was prefect of the department. A stele visible on Place des Epars, which represents a hand holding a dagger illuminated in blue-white-red at nightfall, evokes his time in Chartres and his acts of resistance. This sculpture is one of the stages of the path of memory that crosses the city centre from Boulevard Chasles to the Butte des Charbonniers. By following the golden markers on the ground of the esplanade of the Resistance placed under the sign of De Gaulle, visitors will pay tribute to the heroes of the Liberation and to the Eurelian children who died at the front with the monument to the dead. A modern and colourful stele was added to this route a few years ago for those who died in Algeria. It is installed on the Butte des Charbonniers.
