The city centre of Chartres has preserved the physionomie of its construction: on a rocky spur, around its castle, the municipality stands out by streets drawn to the cord on one side of the square of 18-October, and very narrow and towed from the other side to the castle. On all sides of the city it is possible to have a superb view of the Loir valley since the river flows underneath. And at every corner of the upper city, you can discover very beautiful wooden houses that give Chartres a real stamp.
