BARBED WIRE SEMINAR
The Barbelés seminary is undeniably steeped in history.
Listed as a historic monument since 1995, the Barbelés seminary is undeniably steeped in history. Between 1945 and 1947, under the direction of Abbé Franz Stock (1904-1948), this building housed almost a thousand German and Austrian priests and seminarians, all of whom were prisoners of war whose fate was uncertain. They turned the CM 101 block into a chapel, and decorated it with frescoes. Today, it's possible to visit the building and see this unique testimony at first hand. A visit there is also a way of understanding the humanism and greatness of Father Franz Stock's soul, and of perpetuating his memory.
