HUNEBURG CASTLE
The ruins of this castle offer a magnificent view of the surrounding area.
The ruins offer a magnificent view of the surrounding area. The castle is thought to date back to the 13th century, but was abandoned in the 15th century. Restored by F. Spieser in 1933 in a neo-regionalist and neo-Romanesque style, a beautiful tower was added. During the Second World War, it was a hotbed of Nazi propaganda, before being sequestered in 1945 and turned into a vacation resort and hotel. Nearby, don't miss La Grotte d'Amour, specially designed for romantic encounters between lovers.
