A memorial to Jean Moulin's heroism and resistance. La Taye, the last stage of his ordeal before Chartres.
It was at La Taye that former Resistance fighter and Eure-et-Loir Prefect Jean Moulin was tortured. Outside, a stele commemorates the events and pays tribute to him: "Jean Moulin - subjected here to the cruellest abuse - refused on June 17, 1940 to dishonor the French army". Behind the gate, you can see the shed where this courageous man was beaten and forced to sign a protocol accusing the military of massacres. La Taye was thus the last stage of Jean Moulin's ordeal before his return to Chartres, where he was reinstated as Prefect on June 22.
