CHAPEL OF THE GOOD LADY
Chapelle de La Bonne-Dame, destroyed, rebuilt, diminished and restored, with a splendid view over the town and the Creuse.
The chapel, which dominates the whole town with its monumental golden statue, can be seen from afar. It was originally the chapel of the medieval castle. Destroyed, rebuilt, diminished, it was finally restored at the end of the 19th century and is now the object of a pilgrimage, in memory of the plague epidemic of 1630. It still extends its right arm over the city, the left supporting the infant Jesus. The climb up to the chapel requires some effort, but is rewarded by a splendid view.
