PONT-VIEUX BRIDGE
Go there and contact
An old bridge in Creuse, surrounded by old wooden houses, offering a picturesque view of the mills and their causeways.
The Pont-Vieux (Old Bridge) has existed since the town was first built, at the foot of the fortress, hence its name "pont-vieux" (old bridge). In those days, it linked the upper and lower towns.
In the 18th century, single- and multi-storey houses and stores were built on the bridge itself (a sign at the foot of the bridge depicts a view from this period). Today, the unobstructed view of the mills and their causeways is very picturesque. The bridge is surrounded by old wooden houses reflected in the Creuse River.
