The Châteauroux state forest covers a large part of the communes of Le Poinçonnet and Arthon. It's one of the largest in the département, measuring over 5,000 hectares and made up mainly of oak trees. Nature outings are also organized to listen to the stag bellow. The ponds are ideal for observing the cistude tortoise. There are several signposted walks starting from the Picard crossroads, for example, or from Le Poinçonnet town hall.
