Balsan Park was owned by a family of rich industrialists. The Balsan family owned a linen factory (uniforms for the army) and its castle (nineteenth century). The city bought the whole and rehabilitated it gradually. In this new neighborhood near IUT and student housing, this large park of quarte hectares and a half is a nice green lung on the banks of Indre. Trees were studied to shoot down the worst and replant new ones in 2014 and 2015. Walkways have been redesigned for pedestrians and both wheels. The park has lawns, more pedestrian areas and relaxation areas. Cars are prohibited except in a restricted area for access to the castle.
