SAINT-PATERN BRIDGE
A lovely two-arched bridge on the Théols river, near the Saint-Roch hospice in Issoudun, well worth a visit.
The Pont Saint-Paterne is an attractive 16th-century stone bridge with two arches spanning the Théols, the river that runs through the town and was a key factor in the development of the tanneries. Close to the Saint-Roch hospice, it is one of the few remaining vestiges of this era in the district.
In fact, it's a pleasant place to visit when you're in the area. The site is pleasant, with a city garden in front of the museum and the bucolic Jardin François Mitterrand stretching along the river. A pleasant interlude in your visit to the city.
