VILLA HOTEL
Classical mansion housing the intercommunal library and heritage collections.
This mansion was built in the 18th century by the Marquis de Villaines. It is a large building in the classical style, framing a courtyard. Today, it houses the intercommunal library (on the Rue Nationale side), as well as the library's heritage collections.
Exhibition rooms are located on the first floor. They overlook the small George Sand square, where a statue of the novelist, pen in hand, is enthroned. In 2025, the building will be refurbished to house the future Musée de La Châtre.
