HOTEL D'ARS
A handsome hotel of imposing dimensions, home to nuns such as the Carmelites, Ursulines and Dominicans.
The Marquis d'Ars distinguished himself during the Italian wars in the early 16th century. He was also master of arms to the knight Bayard. He settled in La Châtre, in this beautiful building of imposing dimensions, easily recognizable by its pale yellow color.
Later, nuns took possession of the premises: first Carmelites in the 17th century, then Ursulines and Dominicans. The building then became a school. Today, it houses the Centre d'Action Sanitaire et Sociale de La Châtre.
